Not going to comment too much yet, but to all those site who feel that flash is vital:

Lambeth Council...

But it seems so does everyone else. And crucially they deserve it.

District 9

Fantastic film. Worth watching for:
1. Sci-fi fun
2. Political comment
3. Character development

Perfect film for cold weather as it reminds you of lovely warm Sarf Africa!

Nicely paced with good open ended resolution. Lovely inspection of people's beliefs and prejudices. Well worth a watch.

A Scanner Darkly

Amazing film, based on a typically gripping and labyrinthine book by Philip K. Dick.

Substance D is the power and the blight of the near future and Keanu plays someone out of his depth - perfect characterisation really.

You must watch it if only to marvel at the beauty of the lovely animation. The story cracks along too. Love it.

NCEPOD and 'Caring To The End'

John Black, President of the Royal College of Surgeons gives this key response to the NCEPOD's ''Death in Acute Hospitals: Caring To The End?"

“Caring to the End?” makes an irrefutable argument for:

1. A consultant delivered surgical service

2. An opt-out from the EWTD for surgery

Couldn't agree more. Without time and senior support being a surgical junior is like shooting yourself in the arse.

Marina And The Diamonds

This lovely Welsh born, London residing chanteuse has a stunning voice and some cracking songs. Like a welsh Kate Bush.

From Hollywood to Mowgli's Road genre hopping awesomeness. Me love and you should like. Debut album is out soonish - 15/02/2010. Can get it at iTunes then apparently

Next gig is 26/01/2010 at Dingwalls in Camden. I reckon it should be awesome. I'm going to try and get there personal like...

AFI - Crash Love

AFI - Crash Love.

Released Sept 09 I've only just picked it up as I've become increasingly slack at being the leader of the fashionistas.

This is their 8th (!) studio album. They do seem to keep churning them out at a frightening speed. Since their seminal "The Art of Drowning" some have felt they have been treading water. I think that actually they found their mojo and their groove and followed it.

It's basically a more poppy version of "The Art of Drowning". Beautifully crafted anthemic angst. Nothing more nothing less. Still enough of the crunch to grasp the oldies and enough of the singalongs to get the young girls...

If you like AFI you'll love this. If you like people such as Fall Out Boy - try upgrading to quality music like this.

Me like. Enough said.

The Hangover

I have just watched The Hangover.

It is a film about men. Men and what they do when one of their own is about to be taken away and become betrothed. To be honest I reckon most the comedy is lost on non-males, but even then it is funny.

For a man it is hilarious. Without a doubt the best film I've seen this year. It is in fact the type of film where you come out wishing you had the balls to do what they did! Fantastic stuff. Too many laugh out loud moments - the likes of which are familiar to many men during the morning after!

Plus Heather Graham is as awesome as ever. Fit too... And she's 40!

Buy the DVD.

Do not download the virtual Tesco's DVD - just rip the damn thing. Awful system to package an amazing film!
